    • Our Schools Concert 2021 with the Magnard Ensemble

will be taking place at a later date, yet to be confirmed

Schools workshops will run in a digital format this year for any local primary school that would like to take part - based on Magnard Ensemble's 'Revolting Rhymes and Marvellous Music' concert inspired by Roald Dahl.

The forest – strange, eerie, mysterious, magnificent… A place of magic and surprise, where nothing is ever quite what it seems…"

Follow Little Red Riding Hood into the forest and find creative inspiration!

The specially created teacher's pack will include a fun introduction to the five instruments which make up a wind quintet - the flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn and bassoon. Each instrument has a unique sound and plays a vital role in bringing the fairy tales to life in Paul Patterson's scores to Roald Dahl's Little Red Riding Hood and Three Little Pigs. Members of the ensemble will lead the class through composing their own character piece to compliment these works, regardless of their previous experience in music. There will be an easy-to-follow lesson plan, videos and worksheets so that the class can get stuck right in!

      Tickets via our Ticket page

The Festival will follow the latest available Covid-19 Government guidelines to ensure all venues, rehearsals and concerts will be covid secure. We will continue to review and manage potential risks, particularly in response to any changing guidance from the government, and will communicate such changes to our audience, musicians and volunteers.
