Most of the ten pieces in this programme have a connection with the number 10, in recognition of, and tribute to, the Festival’s 10th Anniversary. Two of the pieces have been especially arranged for organ by the recitalist for this concert, which embraces music from the 18th Century through to the 21st.
Philip Berg MVO studied the organ at the Royal College of Music and was organist at St Paul’s School for 32 years. He has been Master of the Music at The Queen’s Chapel of the Savoy since 1995, where his recitals have included Bach’s complete organ works. He has performed at many of Europe’s cathedrals including St Paul’s, Westminster Abbey, Brandenburg and Chartres.
